just picked up a sony a6000
« on: September 18, 2014, 06:13:44 pm »
Think I made a good choice?

I have a vacation/work conference next week near Washington DC and wanted a damn good camera for sight seeing but something lighter and more pocketable (fits in a cargo pants pocket anyway) then my beloved and tired Nikkon D40.

I was sort of in a tossup between the 6000 and 5100 as they have the same sensor and AF but the 5100 is about an inch shorter and noticeably lighter because it trades an EVF for a touchscreen.  Im thinking I like yhe touchscreen but didnt trust a touchscreen outside in bright lights.

I don't have any hands-on experience with it, but if a friend's A55 (?) Sony is an indication, you should be happy.

I'd recommend the 35mm over the 50mm.  Also the pancake lenses are fun with the wide angle adapter.

Yea... I got to decide which one better suits me.

I think I'm going to also pick up an adapter for my Nikon lenses.
